Kate Libby Endowment donates $3000 to
Kennebunkport Consolidated School Visual Arts Program
November 2011, Kennebunkport, Maine
The Kate Libby Endowment for the Arts continues to support local schools and art programs with a donation of $3000 to the Kennebunkport Consolidated School Visual Arts Program. This donation will allow the school to add a digital component to their existing program enabling students to explore photography and other current forms of digital creative media. "This is a fabulous opportunity for our children to honor the magical and inspiring art and life of Kate Libby in making use of our digital photography lab and art gallery", said Audrey Grumbling, Visual Arts Teacher at Kennebunkport Consolidated School.

This is the second grant given by The Kate Libby Endowment for the Arts, whose mission is to provide financial support for the arts in Maine with special focus on the children of Maine. This initiative is championed by Art For Everyday, the Kennebunkport based publisher of Kate Libby Calendars. The Endowment's focus is to help small, grassroots or neighborhood school based organizations support and nurture hands-on experiences through the arts. The Endowment is supported in part through purchases of Kate Libby's Calendar and online donations made at www.artforeverydayonline.com.
Kate Libby was a Maine native and well loved artist. Her captivating paintings portray the life and landscape of Maine in vivid color. Though Kate Libby passed away in 2005, her work lives on in the popular Poster calendar published yearly by Art For Everyday, and most especially in her artistic legacy and strong connection to the state of Maine.
